Koogle and glass
Koogle’s products are handmade, unique blown glass ornaments that have been made in the family glassblowing workshop for 60 years, over three generations. Koogle is original and unique, preserves the culture of crafts of the City of Zagreb, has the status of a Traditional Craft and continues the long-standing family wind-blowing tradition of making hollow glass ornaments.
They are meant to make our lives a little more beautiful. They were created in response to a market saturated with imported products characterized by typification, lack of quality and aesthetic value.
Koogle is intended for people unencumbered by stereotypes, open to new perceptions and those who appreciate handicrafts and respect tradition, because Koogle is a product that came from tradition, but goes beyond the traditional.
In addition to Christmas decorations, hand-blown glass balls can be used as decorative items, souvenirs and gifts, and are made in a variety of sizes and shapes.
Koogle is made of top quality. The manufacturing process itself begins by heating the glass hollow tubes using a burner, at a temperature of 600-800 degrees Celsius. When heated, the tube must be constantly rotated and an ampoule with a thickening is created which must be closed at one end. After creating and closing the ampoule, it must be reheated in order to inflate the ball. After cooling, the balls are decorated with natural materials and packed.
Glass Koogla is filled with natural materials (feathers, twine, dried herbs, moss, sand, etc.), but also trifles such as wooden crayons, beads, buttons, photographs, etc.
